Hospice Wellington appoints new executive director

Hospice Wellington is pleased to announce the appointment of Pat Stuart as executive director, effective Jan. 25, 2018.

Pat graduated nursing in 1978 and began her career with 15 years of hospital work, followed by 20 years of service with St. Elizabeth Health Care, providing contributions to front line community nursing, education and management.

Pat is the recent recipient of the RNAO 150 Nurses across Canada, recognizing public advocacy and leadership in advancing a patient-centred approach to quality health care.

In September 2012, Pat came to Hospice Wellington in the position of director of care. In June of 2015, Pat was appointed to a two-month position of acting executive director.

Most recently, in June of 2017, Pat again became acting executive director for Hospice Wellington, as well as maintaining the position of director of care, and has held those positions until today.

Pat’s career commitment to the important work of nursing, as well as a passion for all work in palliative care, has spanned several decades. Pat states a strong commitment to leadership and team building that ensures Excellence of Care, and that same commitment remains evident in the work Pat has done on behalf of Hospice Wellington over many years.

The Board of Hospice Wellington would like to congratulate Pat on this new leadership position, and look forward to the next phase of program growth and development in the delivery of excellent palliative and bereavement services to the residents of Guelph and Wellington County.
