The Guelph Humane Society says the final number of cats rescued from a two-bedroom apartment in Guelph last week is 105.
The humane society said that the community has responded by helping raise over $30,000 since the cats came in to help with their care.
"The Guelph Humane Society appealed to the community for assistance immediately after the cats were surrendered, when they estimated that the rescue would cost a minimum of $20,000. GHS has been overwhelmed by the community’s support and donations. Together the community raised over $30,000 in 72 hours and the generosity keeps pouring in with donations and calls/messages to assist in any way possible. This support will have an incredible impact on these cats," the humane society said in a news release.
The cats have been assessed and provided with basic medical care, such as vaccinations, microchipping, spays/neuters, and parasite control.
The cats are being monitored closely and GHS will keep the community updated as to when they become available for adoption.
