The Guelph Humane Society is seeking information from the public after a Chihuahua-type puppy was found wandering in the Tim Hortons parking lot at Imperial Road and Wellington Street West in Guelph during the morning of Tuesday, Aug. 8.

The young, male dog (approximately 12 weeks old) was found with a severe eye condition in both eyes and loss of vision due to swelling. The puppy was not wearing any identification when he was found by a caring citizen and brought to the Guelph Humane Society.

A veterinary exam revealed that the puppy was suffering from an advanced case of entropion, where eyelids on both eyes were folded inwards, causing the puppy significant pain and discomfort.

“We are looking for the public’s assistance to help find the owner of this dog,” says Megan Swan, Ontario SPCA Agent. “Due to the condition in which this dog was found, we are concerned this could be a case of neglect.”

If you have any information that could assist in this investigation, please call the Guelph Humane Society at 519-824-3091 or 310-SPCA (7722) immediately.
