A Guelph woman faces impaired and stunt driving charges after she was caught Thursday afternoon driving nearly twice the speed limit.

Just after 2 p.m. a member of the Guelph Police Service Traffic Unit was patrolling near Gordon Street and Kortright Road when he clocked a black BMW travelling 94 km/h in a 50 km/h zone.

The driver appeared anxious and was showing signs of impairment. She failed a roadside breath test and was transferred to the police station, where further testing revealed she had three times the legal amount of alcohol in her system.

A 23-year-old Guelph woman is charged with impaired driving, stunt driving and speeding. Her licence was suspended for 90 days and her vehicle was impounded for 14 days.
