If you have ever dreamed of bowling for dollars like the pros do on TV, now is your chance with Hopewell Children’s Homes annual Bowl-A-Thon.

The Bowl-A-Thon, now rolling into its 15th successful year, will take place on Saturday, October 29 from 2-5 p.m. at Woodlawn Bowl in Guelph.

Funds raised from the event will support new equipment and services in Hopewell’s 6 locations across Guelph and Wellington County.

Organizers expect at least 20 teams to compete for bragging rights and bowling glory including a team with Guelph MP, Lloyd Longfield. Participation is open to the public right up until the event kicks off on Saturday. On top of a fun afternoon of bowling, registrants can enter to win raffle prizes and they will also receive free pizza and pop for participating.

“We’re really thrilled with the enthusiasm of all our registrants,” said the Bowl-A-Thon’s volunteer chair, Laurie Iversen. “We’re inviting everyone to come on out, help a good cause and have a great time connecting with the community. We’ll find a team for everyone who wants to bowl. Bring the whole family!”

The funds raised at the Bowl-A-Thon will go towards the development of a Snoezelen Room, a controlled multi-sensory environment that provides therapeutic support for clients. Funds will also assist with purchasing shower bathing trolleys and power lifts for those who need them.

Teams of five as well as individual bowlers can sign up to for the Bowl-A-Thon by writing Mark at [email protected].

Those interested in providing sponsorship or donating funds to support Hopewell Children’s Homes, can still get involved by donating at www.2016hopewellbowlathon.eventbrite.ca
