Local 'outstanding employers' celebrated at awards ceremony

Honoured businesses were those that provided training and employment opportunities to individuals who have either faced employment difficulties or required workplace experience

EMPLOYMENT COORDINATION COMMITTEE OF GUELPH WELLINGTON

The Employment Coordination Committee of Guelph Wellington (ECC) was pleased to host the 28th annual Employer Recognition and Awards event on Friday, May 25, 2018. This event celebrated the outstanding employers who have provided training and employment opportunities to individuals who have either faced employment difficulties or required workplace experience. The theme for this event, 'A Winning Combination', illustrates the cooperation and teamwork necessary on behalf of employers, community agencies and community individuals in order to ensure the success of their mutual goals.

Employer Recognition Awards

The following employers were recognized at this year’s event: Pinetree Pet Care Centre, Arthur Foodland, Smitten Apparel, Royal City Ball Hockey, DENSO Manufacturing Canada Inc., MTCA, Milestones Grille and Bar, Midas Auto Service and Tires, Kam's Auto Service Guelph, SERVPRO of Guelph, Guelph ADHD and Aspergers's Centre, Carla Berquo, Mentorship Excellence, Food Basics - Silvercreek, Symposium Cafe - Restaurant and Lounge, The Raw Carrot, Old Navy 3809, Supreme Car Wash and Osmow's.

This year, the ECC was pleased to have Lauren Stein from Guelph ADHD and Aspergers's Centre as our keynote speaker. Bringing greetings from the City of Guelph was Mayor of Guelph Cam Guthrie; Guelph Chamber of Commerce CEO and President, Kithio Mwanzia; County of Wellington, Dennis Lever – Warden; Lloyd Longfield Guelph member of Parliament, all brought their greetings. Paul Osborne, Director of Marketing and Recreation Centre for Conestoga College, again hosted this year’s event as Master of Ceremonies.
