Having set out to pick up some trash that had blown up against their fence, a group of co-workers were surprised to find it wasn’t trash at all – it was a collection of discarded photos.
Now they’re hoping those memory mementos find their way back to the rightful owner.
“If they were mine, I’d want them back,” said Thomas Bellissimo of Ag Energy Co-operative. “They’re family photos. I see some vacation shots, beaches and stuff, what looks to be a first communion shot. Some of them appear to be older-type photos.
“There’s some neighbourhood shots of kids playing.”
The photos have been turned into Guelph Police Service.
They were discovered on Thursday, against a fence in a fairly secluded spot near the Speedvale Avenue business, not far from the Speed River bridge and close to a trail.
Bellissimo wonders if they were stolen along with other items and thrown away because they are of no financial value.
“They were just sort of thrown up against the fence there, no box or anything,” he said. “They’re not in great shape, but all the negatives are there too … so they can be reprinted.”
