Looks like Guelph is getting a new ramen restaurant

Kinton Ramen plans on opening in Guelph this spring

A fast-growing Japanese ramen chain is coming to Guelph this spring.

Kinton Ramen will be moving in to 78 Gordon St. this spring, according to the company's web site.

The location is the northeast corner of the Gordon Street/Wellington Street intersection, a standalone building that most recently was a cheque cashing business and before that a Quiznos Subs store. The building is currently being renovated.

Kinton Ramen started in Toronto in 2012 and has grown to include 21 restaurants in Ontario, including one in Waterloo, along with 14 others in Quebec, British Columbia and two in the United States. Guelph is one of four new locations in Ontario set to open this year.

A liquor licence has been applied for.
