ERIE – The Guelph Storm scored three unanswered goals in the second period on their way to a 5-2 victory over the Erie Otters Saturday night.

Two of those goals came on the power play, as the Otters' Pano Fimis was given a five-minute match penalty for a slew foot on Guelph's Ryan McGuire.

Braeden Bowman and Matt Poitras continued their stellar play, each recording a goal and an assist. Also scoring for Guelph were Chandler Romeo, Jett Luchanko and Cooper Walker, the latter into an empty net.

Patrick Leaver made 22 saves in the Storm net.

The win was Guelph's third straight.

There are now three games left in their regular season: Wednesday in Windsor, Friday at home against Erie and Saturday in Saginaw.

They currently sit in sixth place in the Western Conference. If the playoffs started today they would meet the Sarnia Sting in the first round.
