Manager of Guelph business accused of defrauding company of $380,000

In October of 2015, a Guelph business contacted the GPS Fraud Unit concerning an internal fraud/theft. They alleged that a manager of the business had been pocketing sales from sales transactions and altering business records to conceal his activities

An investigation was ongoing from that date and the company alleges that their employee had defrauded them of revenue and inventory worth over $380,000.  Guelph Police fraud officers conducted further investigation and as a result, John Fabianiak, a 38-year-old Guelph man, was arrested on Sept. 20, 2017 for fraud over $5,000 and theft by a person required to account. He was released on a promise to appear with a court date of Oct. 31, 2017.
