Many Hydro One customers in the Fergus, Elora and Salem area will be without power Friday following an early morning fire at a Hydro One substation in the area.
Hydro One reports that 1,559 customers and that power is expected to be restored before noon.Centre Wellington fire officials report the fire occurred at a substation on Couny Road 18 between Fergus and Elora.
It was extinguished by 6 a.m. but damage means no power for Hydro One cutomers for much of the day, reports Centre Wellington deputy fire chief Jonathan Karn.
There were no reports of any injuries.
