Metrolinx will be offering and adding new GO train services for the summer.

Following Step 3 of reopening, Metrolinx announced increased rail service on multiple lines, including the Kitchener GO line, starting Saturday.

A release from Metrolinx said Kitchener line customers travelling between Mount Pleasant GO and Union will have two additional westbound trips on weekday evenings, departing from Union at 7:34 p.m. and 8:34 p.m., and an additional eastbound trip to Union at 8:40 p.m.

The release also mentions additional trips have also been added between Kitchener GO and Union, including an additional eastbound trip to Union departing at 8:39 p.m., and an additional westbound trip to Kitchener GO at 9:34 p.m.

Along with these additional service options, Metrolinx will also offer GO transit users new weekend pass options, including $10 unlimited one-day travel, or $15 unlimited weekend travel.

Anyone planning to take the GO Bus is being warned to check bus schedules ahead of time, as a number of bus times are being replaced with trains, while others are being adjusted to connect with the returning train service.
