NEWS RELEASE

MISSY BAUMAN

*************************
Missy Bauman, a new addition to Guelph’s community of young musicians, is releasing her first album at the Cornerstone Cafe on May 12, 2017. With a suggested donation of 6$, you can hear Missy play alongside Doris Folkens around 7 p.m.

Shortly after moving to Guelph, Missy joined Hillside Festival’s Girls with Guitars songwriting program, run by Doris Folkens. Over the course of five weeks, the course created a space for female songwriters in the community. Missy is also participating in Hillside’s workshop, Protest Songs: Writing for Peace and Change. Missy was thrilled to play Hillside Inside this year and is even more excited for her first official show as a Guelph resident.

Missy Bauman was only 17 when she won the Hamilton Music Awards Best New Artist and Rising Star. Missy is becoming a household name for local alternative folk, appearing twice at the Harvest Picnic (with the Arkells, Bahamas, Kathleen Edwards, Feist, and Sarah Harmer), as well as playing festivals across Ontario. This album release show kicks off a Canada wide tour, featuring shows across the country.

The CD release show at the Cornerstone in the heart of downtown Guelph is not to be missed.
