Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) has issued a second-quarter (July to September 2018) non-tax gaming revenue payment of $650,416 to the Township of Centre Wellington for hosting Elements Casino Grand River.

In this fiscal year (2018-19), Centre Wellington has received $1,245,193. Since December 2003, Centre Wellington has received more than $30.2 million in non-tax gaming revenue.

“OLG provides direct support to communities across Ontario through payments to municipal partners and local charities, and generates more than $4 billion in economic activity, including goods and services purchased from local businesses,” said Vic Fedeli, Ontario’s minister of finance.

These payments are made under an equitable formula in the Municipality Contribution Agreement that determines the funds municipalities receive for hosting a gaming facility and are based on a graduated scale of gaming revenue that is consistent across all sites in Ontario.

At more than $2 billion annually, OLG provides the Ontario government with its largest source of non-tax revenue.
