No injuries in Saturday townhouse fire

On Jan. 11, 2020 at approximately 6:35 p.m., the Guelph Police Service and the Guelph Fire Department responded to a reported residential fire, in the area of Edinburgh Road and Willow Road.

Upon arrival, emergency responders found a family of four waiting outside the townhouse. Investigation revealed smoke was coming through three townhouse units.

Fire crews were able to locate a fire in the rear wall of one of the units. This fire extended from the first floor, through the second story and up to the attic.  

Fire crews were able to extinguish this fire. As a result, the residence is not livable until repairs are made.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the fire prevention office of the Guelph Fire Department.
