After being delayed and then going virtual due to COVID-19, the annual fundraiser for YMCA-YWCA programming in Guelph is excited to return to in-person celebration of local women leaders. The YMCA of Three Rivers is joining forces with local International Women’s Day celebrations and Innovation Guelph to continue to shine a light on the important work and impact of women in our community.
Nominations for the 2022 awards open on November 17, and run to December 17. With the elimination of any formal categories, we are looking to celebrate any women who are impact makers, change seekers and community builders! What better way to be recognized after a difficult season than to be nominated for this honour within your own community. Nominations are being accepted now and can be submitted completely online through the following .
We’re excited to see our partnerships and reach grow, and to celebrate the remarkable women in our community,” says Jodi Petitpas, event organizer. “This event is unique in that as we celebrate the accomplishments of these incredible women in Guelph, funds raised also go to support female-focused programs at the Guelph Y. It truly is the epitome of strong women celebrating and raising up strong women.”
As a charity, the YMCA of Three Rivers is committed to serving the Guelph and surrounding communities — virtually or in person. It is generous donations like this that allow the Y to continuously support women of all ages through all stages of life. From teenage years, to parenting, experiencing breast cancer and beyond, the Y and other organizations like Innovation Guelph are showing up to ensure all women find a safe community.
