One dead in pickup truck collision near Erin this morning

A 76-year-old passenger was killed and driver injured in a single vehicle collision Friday morning

ERIN – Wellington OPP are investigating a fatal collision outside the village of Erin. 

On October 21, 2022, at approximately 6:45 a.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a serious collision at the intersection of Winston Churchill Boulevard and Erin-Garfraxa Townline Road, north of Erin. Initial reports indicated that a pickup truck had left the roadway and that there were serious injuries.

Emergency service responded and the driver and passenger were transported to a local hospital. The passenger, a 76-year-old resident of Erin, was pronounced deceased. The driver was treated for minor injuries.

The intersection was closed for West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) team reconstructionists to mid day. The Office of the Chief Coroner was notified.
