10:15 a.m. update
On Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at approximately 10 p.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a fatal collision involving two motor vehicles on Wellington Road 9 at Concession Road 6, near Moorefield. A pickup truck ran a stop sign and collided with a minivan.
The driver and passenger of the minivan were rushed to local hospital where the female passenger was pronounced dead. The male driver of the minivan sustained non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the pickup truck was cleared by paramedics at scene.
The passenger has been identified as 69-year-old Brenda Jones of West Grey Township.
Mapleton Fire/Rescue along with Guelph Wellington Paramedics Service attended the scene.
The cause of the collision is currently being investigated by OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) and charges are pending.
The intersection of Wellington Road 9 and Concession Road 6 of Mapleton Township has been re-opened.

MAPLETON - On Tuesday May 16, 2017 at approximately 10 p.m. Wellington County OPP responded to a fatal collision involving two motor vehicles on Wellington Road 9 at Concession Road 6, near Moorefield. Police said a pickup truck is believed to have run a stop sign and collided with a min ivan.
The driver and passenger of the mini van were rushed to local hospital where the female passenger was pronounced dead. The male driver of the mini van remains with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the pickup truck was cleared by paramedics at scene.
The passenger's name will not be released until next of kin have been notified.
Mapleton Fire/Rescue along with Guelph Wellington Paramedics service attended the scene.
The cause of the collision is currently being investigated by OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators and the intersection of Wellington Road 9 and Concession Road 6 of Mapleton Township remains closed at this time.
