Public Health Ontario reported 525 new COVID cases today for Aug. 30.
The latest update noted 680 recoveries and five deaths, but three of the deaths occurred more than two months ago and were not previously reported.
The Aug. 31 update provided by the province's public health agency also reported the following data:
- Of the new cases reported today, 326 were unvaccinated people, 43 were partially vaccinated, 91 were fully vaccinated, and 65 are listed as vaccination status unknown (missing health card information).
- 5,868 active, lab-confirmed cases, down from 6,028 yesterday.
- 336 COVID-positive people are currently hospitalized in Ontario.
- Of the COVID patients hospitalized and not in the ICU, 137 are unvaccinated, 19 are partially vaccinated, and 33 are fully vaccinated.
- There are 131 COVID-positive patients in intensive care, plus another 27 patients who no longer test positive for COVID-19.
- 77 COVID patients are on ventilators and another 16 patients on ventilators no longer test positive for COVID-19.
- Of the COVID patients in the ICU, 83 are unvaccinated, eight are partially vaccinated, an 10 are fully vaccinated.
- 9,942,834 Ontarians (about 67 per cent of the total population) have been fully vaccinated and another 872,286 (six per cent of Ontario population) have a single dose of COVID vaccine. Approximately 27 per cent of the population is unvaccinated.
- The province reported 19,643 tests were processed yesterday, resulting in a 3.1 per cent positivity rate. Provincial labs have processed 17.2 million tests to date.
- Of the new cases reported today 120 are from Toronto, 60 are from Peel, 21 are from Simcoe-Muskoka, and 30 are from York Region.
- Today's cases include 101 individuals under 12 years old, 56 youth between 12 and 19 years old, 188 people between 20 and 39 years old, 123 people between 40 and 59 years old, 51 people between 60 and 79 years old, and six people over 79 years old.
Public Health Ontario has confirmed 565,550 cases of COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic, and reported 550,179 recoveries and 9,503 deaths.
The cumulative average incidence rate in the province is 3,838.4 cases per 100,000 people in Ontario.
Ontario's average weekly incidence rate last week was 32.3 cases per 100,000 people, which is up by 14.9 per cent from the week of Aug. 15.
