Operations back to normal following fire at organics facility

On Thursday, Dec. 7, a fire broke out at the City’s Organic Waste Processing Facility. The Guelph Fire Department attended the scene and extinguished the fire. Staff was safely evacuated and no injuries were reported.

Final clean up from the fire was completed on Dec. 7, and an engineering inspection confirmed that there was no structural damage. Minor repairs were made to a damaged tunnel door, and the city began processing organic waste again on Friday.
