Guelph police had the Wilson Street Parkade cordoned off Tuesday afternoon.

Police briefly shut down access to the Wilson Street Parkade beside city hall on Tuesday afternoon.

A police vehicle blocked vehicular access to the facility at about 3 p.m. and people looking to retrieve their vehicles were told they could not. An ambulance, bylaw enforcement officer and members of the police tactical unit were also on hand.

“The situation was quickly resolved,” Det. Sgt. Christopher Probst, acting media officer, told GuelphToday, noting it involved an emotional individual.

People were once again allowed access to the parkade within a matter of minutes.
