On Thursday, June 16, the Guelph and Wellington Task Force for Poverty Elimination, the University of Guelph’s Community Engaged Scholarship Institute, and Live Work Well Research Centre are hosting an event at 10C Shared Space to celebrate the launch of a collaborative podcast series as part of their joint research project titled, Storied Lives: Shifting Perspectives on Poverty. By amplifying the voices of those experiencing poverty, this project aims to encourage members of the public to examine their assumptions about the causes of poverty.

The podcast series shines a spotlight on the intersectional structural factors that shape and create poverty in Ontario and beyond. Each podcast features composite stories that highlight lived expertise and commentary from experts who work in fields related to poverty reduction.

Join us on Thursday evening and be among the first to listen to these podcasts! The event also includes a panel discussion with key project informants, including Dominica McPherson, Sharon Henriques, Aidan Lockhart, Leen Al-Habash, and Zoë Barrett-Wood, and will be guided by MA Candidate Vanessa Smikle.
