Police say park suspect had special needs

Police working with community partners to come up with appropriate course of action

On Aug. 2, 2018 at approximately 8:50 p.m., Guelph Police were called to Norm Jary Park for a report of an indecent act. It is alleged that a male was masturbating on the path near the tree line. Police searched the area and initiated a K9 track by the tree line and bushes, but the male was not located.

Guelph Police received photos that were taken of the male allegedly responsible. Guelph Police are requested the assistance of the public in helping identify the male in the photos. 

On Aug. 20, 2018, the male in the photos had been identified. Guelph Police would like to thank the public for their assistance.

UPDATE: Guelph Police spoke with the male who was identified in this incident. The male identified has special needs and Guelph Police are working with community members as well as community partners to develop an appropriate course of action.
