With provincial pandemic restrictions set to ease on Monday, Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health is following suit.

On that day, a work-from-home order issued in early December will be rescinded.

“While remote work is no longer required, I still urge individuals, organizations and businesses to make working from home an option wherever possible,” said Dr. Nicola Mercer, WDG Public Health’s chief medical officer of health, in an emailed statement.

Following confirmation of the Omicron variant’s arrival in the area days earlier, Mercer issued a letter of instruction on Dec. 16 ordering employers throughout Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph to allow employees to work remotely until further notice, unless the nature of their work requires them to be on-site at the workplace.
