Metrolinx will be undertaking maintenance work at the rail crossing in Rockwood at Main Street this coming weekend.

Beginning Saturday morning at 6 a.m. vehicle and pedestrian access will be limited to a single lane during work hours with construction personnel directing traffic.

Construction will take place both Saturday and Sunday until 8 p.m.

“During the work hours listed above, the Main Street railway crossing may not be functioning as expected and residents are advised to exercise caution and obey road workers’ instructions guiding traffic,” states a Metrolinx construction notice.

The railway crossing will function as usual overnight on Saturday and after work is completed on Sunday.

Residents may notice noise from machinery and ambient light from the site. The use of back-up beepers will be limited to essential work only.

This work is part of maintenance work along the rail corridor from Georgetown to Kitchener on GO Transit’s Kitchener line.

All dates are subject to change due to weather as required.

A communications email line is available for all questions from residents here
