Guelph Symphony is ringing in the New Year with a concert featuring favourite Strauss waltzes and Viennese-inspired revelry. The New Year’s Day in Vienna concert is a delightfully joyous tradition – it’s the perfect way to bid a fond farewell to an old year while ushering in a new one.
We are thrilled to welcome soprano, Jonelle Sills, a rising star with a compelling stage presence. Conductor, Genevieve Leclair, the fourth candidate in the search for our next artistic director, will lead the orchestra, said Catherine Molina, the orchestra’s general manager.
Sills was named in Canada’s 30 hot classical musicians under 30 for 2020 by CBC Music. She has performed with National Arts Centre Orchestra and is a 2019 Dora Award winner, for outstanding performance of an Ensemble with Against the Grain Theatre.
All concerts in the 2022-23 Season will be one hour long, without intermission.This concert is sponsored by BMO.
