Several charges laid after citizen calls police about being followed

A Guelph man faces weapons and drug charges following a dispute Monday.

Approximately 10:25 a.m., a man called police to report he had been threatened by a former acquaintance who was now following him. The caller advised the other man had brandished a knife while uttering death threats.

Officers responded and located the subject man. During a search incident to arrest, officers seized a knife and quantities of psilocybin and cannabis, as well as cash and evidence consistent with drug trafficking.

A 45 year old is charged with carrying a concealed weapon, possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, assault with a weapon, uttering death threats, possessing a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possessing cannabis for the purpose of selling.
