Shed fire considered suspicious

Fire at 305 Woodlawn Road West

On Dec. 9, 2016 at approximately 10 a.m., the Guelph Police Service attended to 305 Woodlawn Rd W., site of the former Royal City Nursery. At that time there was a large shed at the rear of the property which was on fire.

Members of the Guelph Fire Department attended and extinguished the blaze. Investigation has revealed that this shed was being used by squatters as a form of shelter and there was a wood stove being used in the shed.

This property is owned by the Ministry of Transportation and all the buildings on the site are slated for demolition.
