TORONTO - On Sunday, March 24, Silence, Guelph and The Canadian Women Composers (CWC) Project are teaming up to present "New Music & Jazz" featuring a group of inspiring jazz musicians, led by singer/composer/improviser Laura Swankey.

The group will perform an innovative programme of new vocal jazz music by Canadian female identifying jazz composers. Just over an hour long, the programme will include the world premiere of Tova Kardonne's Preposterous Locutions, which was commissioned this year by The CWC Project, and I Hear You by Laura Swankey and Belinda Corpuz.
 
Also performing will be vocalists Lieke Van der Voort, Belinda Corpuz, and drummer Germaine Liu. "New Music & Jazz" is a wonderful and unique opportunity for audiences to see a diverse range of vocal jazz music with women playing the role of both jazz composer and performer!
