Smell of weed leads police to stash of other drugs

Two people face multiple trafficking charges

CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP – On May 24, 2016 at approximately 5:15 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer spoke with a man at his vehicle in the parking lot of the Centre Wellington OPP Operations Centre. 

The smell of marijuana was coming from the vehicle and an item associated with drug use was seen in the car.  An arrest was made and the vehicle was searched.

Officers located suspected drugs including cocaine, amphetamine, marijuana, psilocybin mushroom, Xanax, steroids and marijuana plants. 

The woman in the passenger seat was also arrested.   

22-year-old John Dipisa of Centre Wellington Township and [another person] were charged with;

  • Possession of Cocaine For The Purpose Of Trafficking-Controlled Drugs And Substances Act (C.D.S.A.)
  • Possession of Amphetamine For The Purpose Of Trafficking-C.D.S.A.
  • Possession of Marijuana For The Purpose Of Trafficking under 3 Kg-C.D.S.A
  • Possession of Psilocybin Mushroom For The Purpose Of Trafficking-C.D.S.A.
  • Possession of Xanax - Alprazolam / Benzodiazepine For The Purpose Of Trafficking-C.D.S.A.
  • Possession of Steroids - Nandrolone Decanoate For The Purpose Of Trafficking-C.D.S.A.
  • Produce Cannabis Marihuana-C.D.S.A.

Dipisa is also charged with Failing to Comply with a Recognizance. He was in Guelph Bail Court on May 25, 2016. 

[The other person] is to attend Guelph Criminal Court on June 28, 2016.
