Smelly breath ends in charge

Erin man has vehicle impounded, licence pulled for 90 days

TOWN OF ERIN – On March 20, 2016 at approximately 11 a.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Management Unit (TMU) investigated the driver of a 2002 Dodge on Dundas Street East in the Town of Erin.

While speaking with the male driver, officers detected the strong odour of an alcoholic beverage on his breath.

A Roadside Screening Device test was conducted which resulted in a fail. The male was arrested and taken to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.

His driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days as per statute.

59-year-old John Miller of Erin has been charged with Over 80 mgs contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

He is to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on April 29, 2016 to answer to the charge.
