This year's Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign raised just under $114,000 for the Children's Foundation of Guelph and Wellington.

That brings the total over the 20 years of the campaign to $1 million donated to the foundation locally.

“These funds are crucial for our Food & Friends program and ensuring that local children and youth have access to nutritious food,” says Anita Macfarlane, program director at the Children’s Foundation. “We have over 100 programs throughout Dufferin, Wellington and Guelph that help support the nutrition of thousands of children daily, which currently includes those who are learning at home."

This year, the foundation was supported by Tim Hortons locations in Guelph, Puslinch, Mount Forest, Harrison, Arthur, Fergus and Elora.

Restaurant owners generously donate 100 per cent of the proceeds from all cookies sold to the Foundation to help feed hungry minds.

Across the country the campaign raised over $12 million.
