Snow squall watch in effect for:

  • Kitchener - Cambridge - Region of Waterloo
  • Mount Forest - Arthur - Northern Wellington County

Lake effect snow today through early Wednesday morning; poor visibility and locally 10 to 20 cm of snow expected.

Hazards:
Whiteout conditions in heavy and blowing snow
Snowfall amounts of 10 to 20 cm locally

Timing:
Heavy flurries will start later this morning and last through tonight. The worst snow squall conditions are expected later this afternoon and this evening.

Impacts:
Motorists should be prepared for hazardous winter driving conditions.

Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve.
