The Stanley Cup will make a visit to Guelph on Wednesday as part of the Hometown Hockey festivities planned for this weekend.

Fans can see the cup and pose for pictures in Market Square in front of Guelph City Hall from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at a free event, said a news release.

It was also announced that former National Hockey League players Rick Vaive, Curtis Joseph and Guelph's own Rich Peverley will be part of this weekend's two-day Hometown Hockey event in Market Square.

Hometown Hockey host Tara Slone will also be reuniting with her former band Joydrop to play on the concert stage Sunday. The Juno Award-winning band hasn't played together in 15 years.
