The owner of Guelph's Fixed Gear Brewing has purchased the brand and plans on resurrecting several Stonehammer beers.

"We’re proud to bring back StoneHammer and give Ontario craft beer lovers a taste of what they’ve been missing,” said Mike Oosterveld in a press release.

Oosterveld acquired the StoneHammer brand, recipes, and brewing facilities late last year.

The StoneHammer brewery and taproom, located at 355 Elmira Road North in Guelph, will reopen for limited hours starting in July and a grand opening celebration is being planned for midsummer, the press release said.

“For the relaunch, we’ll start with bringing back an old favourite — StoneHammer Dark Ale,” Oosterveld said. “As sales and production ramp up over the next several months, we’ll reintroduce more StoneHammer signature brews including Red Ale, Pilsner and Coffee Stout.”

Starting this weekend, Stonehammer brands will be available at several local pubs and restaurants.

“Not only does StoneHammer give us strong brand recognition to build another revenue stream, its equipment and canning line will allow us to brew, package, ship and sell beer at 10 times our current capacity,” said Oosterveld.
