A section of a busy downtown road will be shut down for roadwork later this month.
City officials will close Wyndham Street North, just south of the intersection with Woolwich Street, for about two weeks starting on June 12 to accommodate the installation of a new storm sewer. The work is planned in support of a largely residential redevelopment project along Baker Street.
While that section of road will be closed throughout the work, short-term lane restrictions are also expected within the intersection of Wyndham, Woolwich and Eramosa roads, states a post on the city’s website.
“Traffic will be detoured for the duration of construction. Please follow the posted signs for your safety,” the post reads. “Delays should be expected.”
Pedestrian access will be maintained in the area and all businesses are anticipated to remain open throughout construction.
