A house fire in Guelph's west end is being treated as suspicious.

The Guelph Police Service and Guelph Fire Department are investigating a suspicious residential fire in the city’s west end.

Approximately 10 p.m. Friday, emergency services were dispatched to a residence in the area of Willow Road and Westwood Road, where there was a report of a fire. When emergency services arrived, a townhouse unit was fully engulfed in flames.

The Guelph Fire Department extinguished the fire and confirmed there were no injuries. Many residences were evacuated for their safety. Some people have been temporarily displaced.

This fire is being treated as suspicious, therefore police remained in the area through the night and continue to investigate.
