More than 200 performers across many genres including dancers, musicians and actors will showcase their talents in the fifth annual community fundraiser 'Inspiration' on Thursday Nov. 2, beginning at 7 p.m. at River Run Centre. Special headliners include cast members of The Next Step, and elite dancers from Team Canada Dance.

Proceeds go to The Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington Free to Play Program that provides financial assistance for kids wanting to learn or enhance their skills in music, dance, or visual art. Tickets are just $15 for this family event www.riverrun.ca.

“We’re thrilled to mark our fifth year of raising funds for this important initiative of the Children’s Foundation,” says Inspiration founder Brenda Gibson, “I have an appreciation for kids who want to explore their creative side, and the Free to Play program helps them do just that! To date we’ve raised $88,000 for the foundation, and more than 500 children and youth have been able to attend arts programs.”

Inspiration 2017 features many other notable performers that are guaranteed to inspire, including improv masters from The Making-Box; all-stars from Bears Cheerleading; cast members from Royal City Musical Productions upcoming production of Shrek: The Musical; Jazz Squirrels from CIG School of Performing Arts; the GCVI Marching Band; and St. John’s-Kilmarnock Elementary Choir. The evening also includes a fabulous silent auction.

Tickets are on sale now for this one-night only event: www.riverrun.ca, 519-763-3000

There’s also an opportunity for community members to help send those less fortunate to the event – details are here.

This year, Inspiration organizers have added a special daytime event for local dancers as they present a Dance Workshop led by world-renowned choreographer Matthew Clark on Nov. 2nd, 1:30-2:30 p.m. at the University of Guelph Gryphons Athletic Centre.

Register here, $20 per dancer. Proceeds for this event also go to the Free to Play program.
