Traffic stop leads to impaired charge for Puslinch man

Guelph police report a 20-year-old Puslinch male has been charged with impaired driving after being stopped for speeding on Sunday afternoon.

Police were conducting speed enforcement near the intersection of Edinburgh Road South and Municipal Street and clocked a vehicle travelling 83 km/h in a 50 km/h zone.

A traffic stop was initiated and the adult male driver ultimately failed an Approved Screening Device roadside breath test. He was subsequently arrested.

The male was charged with: operation of a conveyance while Impaired, blood alcohol concentration, speeding, young driver – blood alcohol concentration above zero.

His driver’s license was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
