More details are out regarding two pedestrians who were struck by a GO train in Kitchener.

Regional Police say they got the call just before 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, that a 30-year old woman and a Guelph boy attempted to cross train tracks on Lancaster Street, when they were hit by a westbound train.

Both were airlifted to separate hospitals in Hamilton with life-threatening injuries.

The roadway was closed for several hours for the investigation, but is back open to traffic.

Police are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
