OPP charge three with impaired driving

WELLINGTON NORTH TOWNSHIP – On Aug. 27, 2016 at approximately 12:25 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a traffic complaint about a possible impaired driver in Mount Forest. 

An officer located the Chevrolet pickup truck on Main Street and while talking with the male driver, the officer believed that he had consumed alcohol. 

A Road Side Test was administered which resulted in a fail. He was arrested and brought to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.

36-year-old Allan Rasmussen of Chatsworth has been charged with Impaired Driving and Over 80 mgs contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He is to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on Oct. 7, 2016.

His driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days as per statute.

GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP – On Aug. 26, 2016 at approximately 7:30 p.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Management Unit (TMU) Officers were conducting a R.I.D.E. Program on Conservation Road, west of Watson Road, Guelph-Eramosa Township.   

While speaking with the female driver of a 2010 Dodge van, police believed that she had consumed alcohol and a Roadside Screening test was administered which resulted in a fail. 

She was arrested and transported to an OPP Operation Centre for further testing.

48-year-old Beata Piwowarczyk of Mississauga has been charged with Over 80 Mgs contrary to the Criminal Code. She is to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on Sept. 23, 2016. 

Her driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days as per statute.

GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP – On Aug. 27, 2016 at approximately 1:12 a.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Management Unit (TMU) Officers were conducting a R.I.D.E. Program on Highway 6 and College Avenue, Guelph.

Police spoke a male driver of a 2003 Honda and believed that he had consumed alcohol. A Roadside Screening test was administered which resulted in a fail. 

He was arrested and transported to an OPP Operation Centre for further testing.

37-year-old Anish Patel of Mississauga has been charged with Over 80 Mgs contrary to the Criminal Code. He is to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on Oct. 7, 2016. 

His driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days as per statute.
