Concept design of two apartments being proposed for the corner of Willow Road and Dawson Road.

A pair of proposed developments will make their first appearances before Guelph City Council at its planning Monday night.

It will be the required public meeting for both. There will be no decision. Staff will report back to council with a recommendation at a later date.

Tonight's meeting begins at 6:30 p.m.

One proposal is for two six-storey apartment buildings with ground floor commercial use to be built on what is currently a commercial plaza on the northwest corner of Willow Road and Dawson Road.

The proposal, called Willow Court, would see a total of 130 apartment units built on the location.

They are seeking a zoning bylaw amendment to change the existing zoning from community commercial to specialized community commercial that would allow six storeys instead of three.

Following a staff presentation to council there will be a presentation from a planning consultant on behalf of the applicant as well as from James Gollinger of the nearby Shelldale Family Gateway and Dana Nuttley from the nearby Shelldale Centre and Onward Willow Community group.

The second development on Monday's agenda is a proposed nine-unit seniors co-living apartment complex and adjacent duplex at 68-76 Wyndham St. S., just south of Wellington Street.

There are three delegates registered for that item, two from the developer and Scott Frederick of The Ward Residents Association.
