Masking on the U of G campus is paused until further notice.

As of July 1 the University of Guelph will pause its mask requirement. Masks will not be required indoors or outdoors in U of G facilities.

The decision to pause masking came from public health’s call to lift masking in settings like theatres, malls, elementary and high schools.

Since the masking requirement is paused it may be reinstated at any time without notice.

When the fall semester approaches the U of G will monitor public health trends to evaluate the need for masking.

If masking becomes a requirement again it will be shared on the university’s COVID information page on the website.

After July 1, U of G members and visitors may still choose to wear a mask while on campus. The U of G encourages people to to support other’s choices to to wear a mask.

Although masking is no longer required, the U of G stressed the importance of self-monitoring for COVID symptoms and to stay home, test for COVID if experiencing symptoms.
