The Upper Grand District School Board will offer a remote learning option for elementary school students this upcoming school year.

Students who decide to register for the program will be in a standalone synchronous remote classroom with teachers solely dedicated to remote learning.

The remote program has been renamed to the Erin Public School Remote Program and is available to all elementary school students in schools across the UGDSB. The program is run out of Erin Public School and remote learning student's records will be transferred there.

Registration has opened from Monday, May 30 to Friday, June 10. Parents should register their children by 4:00 p.m. on June 10.

Out-of-province remote students will not be allowed to join the remote learning program as per Ministry of Education direction.

Remote learning will have a five hour schedule made by teachers with 3.75 hours of live instruction through Google Meet for Grades 1 to 8 and three hours of live instruction for kindergarten.

For parents who would like to place their children in French immersion for remote learning it is dependent on how many students are registered. If not enough students are registered and the program cannot run, parents will be contacted to discuss their options.

Specialized class placements for students with special education needs will also be dependent on how many students are registered although the UGDSB strongly encourages in-person learning for these placements.

To register a student for the remote learning program fill out the registration form online.
