The Upper Grand District School Board had a total of 23 COVID cases among students in the past month.

Between Sept. 27 to Oct. 25, the 23 COVID cases among 12 UGDSB schools included 10 elementary schools, two secondary schools and one adult learning site.

Zero staff tested positive for COVID during that period.

In that time period, 15 classes were closed and one outbreak was declared in an elementary school. Currently, there are three classes closed in the UGDSB.

Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health recently made some changes to protocol when a positive case is identified. High-risk contacts who are not fully vaccinated are still told to isolate themselves for 10 days but now siblings and other children in the same home are also required to isolate themselves for the same period of time.
