A rally in solidarity with Ukraine will be held at Market Square on Sunday at 2 p.m.

Hosted by the Holy Protection of the Mother of God Ukrainian Catholic Church, the rally will involve speakers and resources to help direct those who want to donate to the Ukrainian people in their time of need.

Parishioner Mira Tersigni said the rally will be a peaceful demonstration to not only support the people of Ukraine but also to encourage Canadian members of parliament to take stiffer actions against the Russian government.

Kitchener held a rally for Ukraine last weekend, drawing in hundreds of people who voiced their frustration with the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Holy Protection of the Mother of God Ukrainian Catholic Church is currently asking anyone who wishes to donate to donate through a monetary fund that will go directly to those in Ukraine.

An overwhelming response from the community has forced the church t stop collecting items for donation as the church has run out of space to store the items.

The donation centre at the church that will be running on Sunday is specifically for those how have already said they would donate, not a new collection period.
