University of Guelph student Mikaila Emrich has been crowned Kitchener's Miss Oktoberfest 2017.
Emrich, 21, is in her final semester of study in the U of G's marketing program, says a press release from the Oktoberfest committee.
She is the 49th Miss Oktoberfest since the festival started.
In a news release, Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest Interim Executive Director Alfred Lowrick says, “We are very pleased to announce Mikaila Emrich as Miss Oktoberfest 2017. We had 11 very talented, very impressive young women in contention this year. The search for Miss Oktoberfest identifies someone who can represent our community and our festival, as one of its lead ambassadors at more than 150 appearances throughout the year.”
