Vehicle break-ins lead to arrest

TOWN OF MINTO – On April 16, 2016 at approximately 5:40 a.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report that a male had been entering vehicles and was now being chased by the complainant’s husband and father-in-law through backyards towards the Palmerston Arena in the Town of Minto. 

Police located the men behind the arena and the suspect was taken into custody. The male’s knapsack was searched and some of the stolen property was recovered.

23-year-old Dylan Watters of Clifford has been charged with theft under $5,000 X 3 and mischief under $5,000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. 

He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on May 27, 2016 to answer to the charges.

Wellington County OPP reminds residents to lock their homes and vehicles, even when they are at home and if any suspicious activity is observed call 1-888-310-1122 or 911.
