Victoria Road North is scheduled to reopen in the next few hours after being closed since Tuesday morning due to a watermain break, city staff said around 1 p.m. Thursday.
The break happened just outside the Victoria Road Recreation Centre.
Since Tuesday, crews have been working to "remove the damaged road surface from the break and reinstate local transportation infrastructure," said Wayne Galliher, the division manager of water services for the City of Guelph."
"Crews are currently finishing paving operations at this time. Once line marking, road sweeping, and demobilization is done, we expect to reopen this section of Victoria Rd N in the next few hours," he said.
Until then, the road will remain closed from Eastview Road and Cassino Avenue.
