VIDEO: Animal hospital break-in

The burglary of Stonegate Animal Hospital occurred on Sept. 29 at 10 p.m.

A local animal hospital on Stone Road was broken into and the owner said he is hoping the burglar is caught to save other businesses from getting robbed.

Joginder Panesar owns Stonegate Animal Hospital on 292 Stone Rd. It was broken into on Sept. 29 at 10 p.m.

A man wearing a grey hoodie, black mask, black pants threw a stone into the window of the front door and was able to enter the building.

He left with over $500. He has yet to be found.

Panesar arrived on the scene where police assessed the burglary. He was at the hospital throughout the night taking photos of the damage for insurance.

He was able to open the hospital the following morning after temporarily fixing the door with plywood.

The glass door repair company told Panesar it would take six to eight weeks for the door to be repaired.

Panesar said the break-in was unexpected. Although the hospital was broken into about five years ago through the backdoor and medicine was stolen.

“He was keeping his head down to show that no one can see his face. He had a face mask,” said Panesar.

Panesar said he wants the person to be found so burglaries can be avoided in other businesses.

“I want to make sure people are aware of things that are happening,” said Panesar.
